Espresso Martini

Cold, sharp, and wide awake — the after-dinner drink that became a whole personality.

Serves
1 drink
Glass
Chilled coupe
Type
Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 30 ml fresh espresso (1 double shot), just pulled
  • 45 ml vodka
  • 15 ml coffee liqueur
  • 10 ml simple syrup (to taste)
  • Ice, for shaking

Method

  1. 1

Pull a fresh double shot and let it cool for a few seconds.

  2. 2

Add the espresso, vodka, coffee liqueur and syrup to a shaker filled with ice.

  3. 3

Shake hard for ~15 seconds — the hard shake is what builds the foam cap.

  4. 4

Double-strain into a chilled coupe and let the foam settle.

Garnish: Three coffee beans, floated on the foam

Hot-extracted espresso is what makes the signature crema foam — cold brew won't whip up the same way. A darker roast stands up to the vodka.
